Unit 3Body StructurePart 1 Text Generally speaking, the automobile body（ see Fig 3.1）consists of the hood , body in white（ BIW） and sub frame of the sedan , with the cab and luggage container of the truck as well. An automobile body is generally divided into four sections ： the front, the upper, the rear and the under body. The front body of an automobile is usually called as the front face, which contains some main parts as front wings, front body panel, front bonnet and front side frame and so on. Meanwhile, the bumper bar , the grille , front suspension parts and the front frame side rail are also the units of the front body. To the most sedans, the front suspension, steering apparatus and the engine assembly are installed in the front body. When a car suffers from a front collision, the front body will absorb the collision energy effectively.
