3. Ss could use the new sentence patterns to talk about their smart house in dreams.

2. A “Smart Box” with a towel, a bottle of water, a cake, a book inside;
3. For Task: (each group)
One task-card on which there are five pictures; five sentences; 6 envelopes with pictures inside; glue; magnets;
4. Six “gardens” and some paper flowers for group evaluation.

Step I. Warming up (3 min)
1. Greetings.
2. Students chant together. (I want to…)
I want to run, run, run. I want to jump, jump, jump. I want to play with you. One, two, three, four.
I want to read, read, read. I want to write, write, write. I want to sit down.

Step II. Prereading (8 min)
1. Presentation of the key word, “smart”.
① T: Do you know what I want to do now?.... I want to sing a song. Do you want to sing a song?
Ss: Yes!
T: Ok. Let’s sing
6、 together. (Ss and T sing the song of Teddy Bear)
T: Wow, the computer is very smart. It knows I want to sing.
② T presents the word smart. T reads, Ss repeat. (Ss read the word in small groups first, and then Ss read it one by one.)
2. Presentation and practice of the new sentence patterns.

7、 T: The computer is smart. It knows I want to sing. (T shows the sentence “It knows I want to…”)
② Use the “Smart Box” to practice the sentence pattern.
T: After I sing the song, I feel thirsty. I want to drink.

Step IV. Reading (16 min)
1. T shows a big, smart, and amazing house on screen.
T tells Ss the smart house is controlled by computers. There are some smart house in Japan and the US.

3. Task: Read and Match.
① Ss read the passage(on Page4 and 5) together in small groups, and find what is really smart in the house.
② In each group, Ss should match the five sentences to the pictures on task-card.

4. Task: Read and Fill in the blanks.
Ss read the passage by themselves. Then fill the words and phrases in the blanks.
Step V. Rounding-off (12 min)
1. T shows a picture of her “smart house” and the passage of its introduct
13、ion on screen, and asks Ss to listen to the passage carefully.

③ T ask Ss to show their “smart house”, and invites some Ss to talk about the “smart houses”.
4. Suggestion & Valuing
Actually, we don’t have such a smart house. We should do many things by ourse
16、lves. Ss may help their mom and dad to do things at home. But in our school, Ss should stay in school from Monday to Friday. They can stay at home only on Saturday and Sunday. So the suggestion is as below:
