In the end, he died of his wound. 他因傷口感染而死。 (1) die意為“死”,表示生命的結(jié)束,是不及物動(dòng)詞,不能用于被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài);強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作,是 間動(dòng)詞,不能與表示一段時(shí)間的狀語(yǔ)連用。例如: His father died five years ago. 他父親去世五年了。 (2) die可以用于進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài),表示“即將死去;奄奄一息”。 例如He is dying. 他快要死了 (3) 常用短語(yǔ) 1) from 意為“由于……而死” 一般常用于由外傷、衰老引起的死亡。 例如: The old man died from a car

10、 accident last year. 這個(gè)老人去年死于一場(chǎng)車禍。 2) die of意思同die from, 它一般指由于疾病、情感等原因引起的死亡。 例如:His grandfather died of liver cancer in 1992. 他的祖父1992年死于肝癌. 3) die out 意為“(家族、物種等)滅絕;絕跡”。 例如:Dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. 恐龍?jiān)诹灏偃f(wàn)年前滅絕了。 6. Bethune developed new ways o
