16、entrubbishdiscussListen to the text.THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATIONAnnie, a member of the Community Care Committee, is talking to students in her school about the Fred Hollows Foundation. Did you know that every _ seconds somebody in the world _ blind? Thats about _ million people. And what is worse is
17、that about _ of them do not need to be blind at all. Do you know what cataracts are? Its when the lens of _ becomes more and more _ until eventually you cant see anything. Second, in _ he started the Fred Hollows Foundation and rained enough money to build _ laboratories to make cheap perspex lenses. One opene
21、d in Eritrea and one in Nepal in _, a year after his death in 1993. These laboratories meant that the lenses could be produced much more _. They are now sold to over _ countries.
